Over the past twenty years our team breathed life back into Pearl’s historic structures, reimagining the Pearl brewery, and transforming it into what it is today – a vibrant, urban, walkable neighborhood. In 2021, we transitioned from the development team of Silver Ventures to an independent subsidiary and proudly minted our new moniker, Oxbow Development Group. We take our name from the historic oxbow bend of the San Antonio River that once cradled the Pearl campus. As we continue new developments at and around Pearl, our group is also pursuing development opportunities beyond the neighborhood.

Background

Immediately after college, I served as a finance officer in the Air Force for five years before going back to business school. After graduating from business school, I joined Silver Ventures to begin working on the redevelopment of the Pearl Brewery and have spent the past 18 years honing my craft as a real estate developer. I am married to my wife Nicole, and we have three amazing kids, Hayden, Cale and Livi.

Travel, cities, nature, philosophy and sports. My wife and kids inspire me, each in their own unique way. 

Why are you passionate about the built environment?

I love dreaming about what a place might be and then working as a team to turn that dream into reality, knowing that when we are finished, we will have transformed an existing building or a piece of dirt into a place that will bring joy to countless people for years to come. 

When I’m not at work you can find me... 

Usually at one of my kids’ events or just spending time with my family. I also enjoy being outdoors, working out, playing pick-up basketball, pickleball and following college football. 

Allen Sikes

Background

After college I served as an officer in the Air Force for 5 years and then worked as a Senior Project Manager for a general contractor in San Antonio. I started working at Silver Ventures on the Pearl development in 2005 and never looked back.

Interests & Inspirations

Cycling, kayaking, woodworking, furniture making, and pouring money and sweat into our house as the low-bid, in-residence carpenter and handyman. I am inspired by the natural world around us.

Why are you passionate about the built environment?

The built environment is everything to us. It is where we live, work, play, rest, gather, mourn, celebrate, exercise, reflect, think, learn, share, nurture, and grow. The built environment is tangible and can significantly impact a place…it can create place if done well. Therefore, it requires passion to be done well and with longevity. 

When I’m not at work, you can find me…

Outside on a bike, in a pool, working in the yard, or in a river somewhere with my family.

Omar Gonzalez

San Antonio boomerang with real estate development experience in the Bay Area, California and Playa del Carmen, Mexico. I moved back to my hometown and in 2010 started working at Hemisfair, where I led real estate and public/private partnerships for over ten years.

What is your favorite part about development?

Creating and bringing in something new to this world that other people can enjoy by living, working, dining, or playing in the new place. I love being at the forefront of developing transformative projects that bring soul to place.

What do you love most about your community?

I love how friendly and engaging my community is – there are no shortage of topics to discuss and opinions to go around. I love living in a neighborhood where I know my neighbors and my children are friends with the neighbor’s kids. I also love the food scene and the culture around sharing meals and stories.

I have been in the construction industry for the past six years and have been fortunate enough to work on a variety of different projects, from doing work for Chase Bank, Yums Brand, and Verizon to working for a Design-Build firm building schools, banks, and public work projects for municipalities.

No two projects are ever the same, nothing is predictable, there are always complex challenges to overcome, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat from ground break to turnover. That’s what makes it the best job in the world.

Shannon Anderson

Professionally, I earned my Masters in Accounting from Texas Tech University (Wreck ‘em!) and became a licensed CPA shortly thereafter. I began my career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Dallas, where I focused on auditing real estate investment funds. Seeking a new challenge, I joined a start-up financial services firm. I had the privilege of leading the accounting team as we grew from a small operation of only 50 employees to a nationally recognized reputable consulting firm with over 750 employees, 15 locations, and $150M in revenue.

Interests & Inspirations

My faith and family are my greatest sources of inspiration. Additionally, I find joy in almost any outdoor activity. Fortunately, the hill country offers plenty of water activities to help beat the summer heat.

Why are you passionate about the built environment? 

Coming on board feels like a homecoming for me—I was born and raised in Boerne, TX (Go Greyhounds!) and recently moved back to the area after spending several years in Dallas. It’s been exciting to see how San Antonio has both grown and stayed true to its roots, with new life and the revival of its historic charm. Having the opportunity to be a small part of these beautiful projects feels so special!

When I’m not at work, you can find me…. 

Spending time with my husband and daughter. We love staying active, whether it’s hitting the slopes, playing tennis and pickleball, or diving into home projects. 

What is your favorite part about your job?

It’s exciting to see the tangible projects come to life while also weaving together the financial details to tell a story through the numbers.

Born & raised in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from Central Catholic High School, I attended Texas Tech University to pursue my interest in construction. After graduating, I was hired by a local general contractor where I spent the first four years of my career. That was until I heard about an amazing opportunity with Oxbow, and here I am.

Why are you passionate about the built environment?

Construction is so rewarding to me because the end product has such a positive impact on people’s lives. The fact that the projects we produce will be used for generations to come provides me with unmatched joy. I look forward to showing my future children the project’s that their father produced. 

What is your favorite part about design & construction?

I love that we are able to assist with input on design. Coming from working as a general contractor, I was used to just building what’s on the plans and not really thinking about how a project can be designed to better serve its community. At Oxbow, we have the opportunity to provide input on design in a way that we feel would provide endless joy to all users.

Jill Jaeckle, CPA

Background

I grew up in Austin (not the cool part) and moved to Dallas after college to work in public accounting. After eight years in public accounting, I joined Frito Lay for three great years before moving to ILEX Oncology as their Controller. After the sale of that entity I was fortunate to join Silver Ventures and eventually shifted with the organization to the Finance and Accounting team at Oxbow Development Group.

Interests & Inspirations

I have always enjoyed sports and games. I especially have fun playing pickleball and Onze with my friends and family. I love being outside hiking, walking my dogs, and snorkeling. I also spend a lot of time working in our yard and experimenting with different flower and plant varieties.

What is your favorite part about your job?

I am so proud of the impact our work has had on the people of San Antonio. The buildings and common spaces are beautiful and thoughtful, but perhaps more importantly, the spaces have been built to inspire gathering and a strong sense of community. As an accounting/finance team member, it is meaningful to me that I feel I have felt involved in the process of creation of these wonderful spaces, which speaks to the inclusionary approach our leadership has taken towards design and development.

I grew up in Carrizo Springs, Texas and made my way to San Antonio in 2016. After some time in public accounting, I began my industry career with a civil engineering firm in 2021, where I got a feel for the built environment and all the hard work that occurs behind the scenes throughout the city. I knew Oxbow was the place for me, where I can contribute to the continued development of our city! 

Interests & Inspirations

I enjoy being anywhere where the ambiente is lively and entertaining. This normally includes traveling, spending time with friends, or simply taking an early morning hike on the weekends. 

Why are you passionate about the built environment?

As accountants, we are not able to make a direct impact on the built environment. Being a part of the team that has improved and continues to improve San Antonio for the better is such an incredible feeling! 

When I’m not at work, you can find me…

Either catching a yoga class around San Antonio or tubing down the Comal River.

What is a fun fact about yourself? 

I was the oyster for the Fiesta Oyster Bake during my undergraduate years at St. Mary’s University.

I come from a small country of 1.3 million people - Estonia. My background is in social work and sales. While in college, I participated in the Southwestern Advantage summer program selling educational products door-to-door in different cities across the United States. After that I worked for six years as a PA in London. In June of 2022, I moved to San Antonio, got married and am now looking forward to starting new adventures in Texas.

I studied architecture in Estonia for two years before my move to the States and I’m passionate about the whole process - from idea to execution - and the creation of environments for people to live in and enjoy.

Patty Muth

I have been an administrative professional for over 30 years. I’m a planner and an organizer, but in this profession no matter how well you plan your day, it seldom turns out as planned. I’m also very flexible which serves me well. I love being behind the scenes supporting people whom I respect and who make things happen.

When I’m not at work, you can find me…

Waterskiing at Canyon Lake or riding Go Karts with my husband. He’s been racing for 30+ years, and I don’t race, I just like to go fast! You can also find me hanging out with my daughter when she’s not working and missing my son (who lives in Denver). Honestly, if you had a GPS tracker on me on the weekends, you’d find that I spend way too much time at Costco.

What do you love most about your community?

I love that San Antonio is truly a big city with a small-town feel. I love the warmth and hospitality of the people. I also love the warmth of the sun (sunny almost 365 days out of the year). I love the history, the traditions, the culture and especially the food.

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Science at Auburn University, and served in various roles in the General Contracting world for 22 years before transitioning to real estate development. Seeing our creative efforts put together in the built environment, and the transformation of the mundane into unexpected delight. I love creating and building something that has a value beyond the physical structure, and the value that comes with a space where people can connect, thrive, live in community, and be a part of something real.

Spencer Solomon

I am a San Antonio native—Go, Spurs, Go!—who is happy to be back in my hometown. While earning my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Texas A&M, I interned with San Antonio Center City Development & Operations. Upon graduating, I relocated to Austin and worked for the development team for an office and industrial developer. However, I found I couldn’t stay away from San Antonio and I soon began working there for a non-profit before landing at Oxbow Development. 

Interests & Inspirations

I love to spend time outdoors, whether in the city or up in the hill country. In fact, walking around is one of my favorite ways to unwind, and it’s a great way to experience our community or nature. I also travel as often as I can—one of my favorite places to visit is Seattle, a place that I often find inspirational in terms of its built environment.

Going for a bike ride through the trail system, pulling weeds out of the front yard, or trying to wear out the dog with a run. 

What is your favorite part about your job?

Real estate development is extremely collaborative, and I love working with and getting to know so many brilliant people with so many different backgrounds.

I’ve been engaged in the built environment since college days, from building spec homes while in school to spending a decade as a real estate attorney representing developers, then working in the San Antonio CBD as VP of Acquisitions & Development at Hixon Properties. I’ve spent the last two decades helping create Pearl. On the family side, I’ve enjoyed a wonderful thirty-six years with my wife Pam and we have two bright, opinionated and passionate children, Cody & Will.

Interests & Inspirations

My maternal grandmother, a sculptor and painter, was a major influence. If I showed up at her home with a coloring book and crayons she’d gently take them away and replace them with drawing paper, charcoals and pastels and say “Use your mind and imagination to make your own creations—there’s no need to follow someone else’s lines.”

Why are you passionate about the built environment?

I believe that the built environment can have a powerful positive impact on people, and creating places that do that sounds like a damn fine way to spend a career.

Spending time in South Texas hunting and looking for artifacts, and hiking in the mountains of Colorado, all with a pup at my side.

Leah Wildman

Senior Asset Manager at Silver Ventures

Born and raised in Dallas, TX, I grew up with two brothers and spent time around our family businesses and residential and commercial real estate. In 2017, I began my career in commercial real estate with CBRE in Dallas. I relocated to San Antonio to join this amazing team in October 2021.

Sports (specifically basketball and track & field), being the fun aunt, and baking.

Power napping, hanging out with my niece and nephews or in the gym playing pickup basketball.

What is your favorite part about your job?

In my role I oversee our land holdings and operating properties, and my favorite part of my job is seeing all the hard work, dedication, and creativity among our team from start to finish, and hearing the feedback from our residents and tenants once a property is occupied.
